Well, as a relative newbie to the publishing world, I was elated when my debut novel, Numbers Never Lie, was chose as Amazon’s Daily Deal yesterday. I have no idea what led up to that but it was quite a gift. Since writing Numbers, I have written four other novels. Three of them are out, or coming out soon. The fourth is in final edits. I already have the beginnings of another mapped out. So, in a way, things are picking up in just about every aspect.
It was amazing to watch Numbers skyrocket up the bestsellers list yesterday. By end of day, it ranked in the top ten in several categories, topping out at #3 in romantic suspense, #3 in contemporary romance, #4 in contemporary literature fiction, and #27 in paid kindle books. I am a bit hung over today as the rank still stays pretty high. Wow.
And the funny thing about all of this, it isn’t even my best book. In fact, the book that followed, Bring It On, has received much better ratings from the few that have read it. (This is no way a ploy to sell it either). Plus, the one I’m finishing now, Flood, Flash, and Pheromones, should rival all that went before. Why? Well, probably because writing is a learning process. After a while, an author settles into what they truly like to write and then tries to develop it as best as possible. Hopefully some day, I can say I’m an author and feel deserving of the description, maybe even use the word “successful” as well.
Thank you Crimson Romance and Amazon for taking an interest in my book!
One last interesting tidbit, my author ranking took a parallel leap too. It’s so strange to see my virtually unknown name next to authors that are world renown icons, even if I know it’s only temporary. Really feeds my ego. Ha.
Congratulations Shelley!! It is exciting to watch your success continue to rise!!! So deserving!!
