Shot Through the Heart by D’Ann Lindun
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
D’Ann Lindun has a way with westerns and vividly paints a setting that you want to be part of.
Shot Through the Heart starts off with high drama when Laramie Porter gets caught in the middle of a domestic violence situation between her drug addicted brother, and the sister-in-law that has become her best friend. She finds herself abandoned to die in a rainstorm.
Derrick Garrison finds her and pulls her to safety, only to be discovered by the brother who’s determined to pursue and kill them. As the town sheriff, her brother Lawrence, has enough credibility to pass anyone’s suspicion and get away with it.
This book is a quick read – very fast paced, and full of action. D’Ann has a way with Westerns and depicts a vivid picture of the settings and characters involved.
A good read, full of turmoil to keep you on the edge of your seat.
