One of the really great things about the internet is the way it closes the gap between years and helps us find people. Of course, that can also be a bad thing, I guess…I have yet to experience any negative aspect and hope that doesn’t happen.
This year, I have completed my ninth manuscript and if you’d asked me four years ago about doing something like that, I’d probably have laughed it off as impossible. Now, it seems like…not enough. Why? Because, for me, nothing is EVER enough.
I also had an opportunity to connect with a few people over the year that I haven’t seen in some time and each of them connected because they’d seen my books “out there”.
Thinking about the way our lives are molded by the people who pass through them made me sentimental. It also deepened my appreciation for good decisions and choices along the way. Sometimes the choices are in our own best interest, sometimes in the interest of others. Time usually exposes the truth.
Not only have I rekindled a few friendships this year but my family has been able to reconnect and keep up with each other through cyber-space as well. So, while there are certainly some drawbacks, I’m very appreciative of the opportunity to exchange a brief hello or what’s up.
Going into 2014, I have only a few goals:
1. More contact with friends, family, and readers.
2. More dedication to my book career and increased appearances (hopefully I won’t get denied or kicked out!) 😉
3. Write a series of blog posts dedicated to emotional impact in writing (coming late January).
4. Publish the four books “on the table” and draft three additional which are currently in the idea phase.
5. Help my friends and family meet their goals.
6. Have fun…loads of it.
That’s pretty simple right? Well, I’m a pretty simple gal.
Oh, and I’m dreaming that I’ll reach several thousand in sales on all the books…we can all fantasize, can’t we?
What are you hoping for, dreaming of, and fantasizing about?
