Star Wars

The Hunger Games

Guardians of the Galaxy

These are just a few of the top-grossing, most popular science fiction movies of all time. Of the ones you’ve seen, what do you remember most about them?

  1. The conflicts
  2. The action and adventure
  3. The romance
  4. All of the above

If you chose #4, then you and I have something in common. We love a good story with a solid plot, plenty of surprises, and lots of action. But most of all we want to see how the romance between the hero and heroine develops. All four of these movies combined these elements to keep you glued to your seat. And that’s what I wanted to write—a story that would have the right mixture of conflict, action, adventure, and romance to keep me glued to my seat and make me want to write it. And for readers to want to read it. All right. I admit, I also wanted a tad more romance. But, hey, I’m a romance writer. What can I say?

The only obstacle in my path, however, was to come up with something a little more original. Something with a bit of controversy in it, to spice it up. To me, nothing can be more controversial than an alien-to-human love story. I’m not talking about a hulky guy from another world who looks like he could pass off as Clark Kent on Earth, although I’ve written my share. This time, I’m talking about someone you’d peg as a true lifeform from another planet the moment you laid eyes on him. But, of course, he’d have to be humanoid enough to fall in love and make love with a human female.

In effect, I wanted a Beauty and the Beast story set in a galaxy far, far away. That fairy tale may be an old trope, but it’s one that never ceases to have possibilities.

Welcome to the world of Neverwylde, where danger is ever present, and love becomes real and forever.

Two species, bitter enemies, are determined to destroy each other, until they realize they need one another to survive a major catastrophe.

In the midst of a major battle as they race through a nebulous anomaly, the Terrans and Seneecians are blown through a wormhole to crash land on an uncharted world. A half world. A world containing the remains of a long-dead civilization.

Lt. Kelen Chambliss knows she has no reason to trust the furred, humanoid creatures, but she and her crew members cannot survive without their help, and the Seneecians cannot survive without theirs. Neither can she ignore the fearsome-looking one called Kyber, with his wicked talons and piercing green eyes.

As they slowly realize there is no escape or forthcoming rescue from the barren planet, Kelen learns there is much about the enemy she never knew. Including the fact that Kyber’s formidable appearance hides a strong, brave, and caring heart.
