I had started a post on Giving…and created a terrific list of ways to make a difference. Then a fellow blogger, posted this terrific post on my page and I loved it so much – I thought I’d share it instead.

I realized that one of the things I’d do after reading her post, was search for others with great comments on giving and share their words too. Sharing is also giving, right? Okay, I confess, I saw no reason to reinvent what others said much better than I could. That’s probably more laziness than anything, right? Ha.
So, here’s a post on giving that not only makes recommendations but talks about the art of giving. One of my favorite parts of this particular article points out that so many people intend to give more when they “have more and can afford it”. The reality is that when you have more funds, you usually also have more expenses. Just go for it.

And here’s one more…I particularly liked this one because it pointed out something that I feel strongly about. Giving to others, especially anonymously, provides a monumental benefit to the giver as well in internal satisfaction. Here’s a quote:
One of life’s most basic laws is “every single act of love, kindness and generosity will multiply and return to you many times over “. The more you give the happier you will feel.
Today is your day to give…any way you can. I guarantee you will feel better for doing so.
Oh, and let me know how it went!
Great words…thanks for sharing. Giving does not have to be huge or expensive, just make someone’s day in a small way!! Have a great weekend.
I appreciate the post. You are so right. Sometimes the beat gifts cost nothing at all – kind words.
Thanks so much and Have a great day.
I couldn’t agree more with the sentiment of this lovely post! Thank you for sharing 🙂 I have recently discovered the immense power of giving myself… I truly believe it has helped me through a very challenging time recently (see http://missmarzipan.com/2012/10/20/cupcake-for-charity-aka-an-exercise-in-gratitude-giving/ if interested) and not only helped me heal emotionally, but perhaps physically too. Looking forward to checking out more of your blog! The best to you 🙂
Very inspiring story – thanks for sharing. My best to you also!

kindness is a gift to both the recipient and the giver. (and always goes well with chocolate chip cookies… 😉
